CleanTech Continues to Gain Momentum in San Jose
Starting with the recent launch of Prospect Silicon Valley, San Jose’s cleantech demonstration center, the City continues to gain momenteum as a global leader in cleantech innovation. Last week, the Cleantech Open Global Forum took place at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center for the third consecutive year. The event determined the world’s most promising cleantech startups from eight regional U.S. accelerators and 30 countries. Also last week, Zero Waste Energy Development Company’s (ZWEDC) Dry Fermentation Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Facility opened it’s doors as the largest commercial facility of its kind. At the facility, food scraps, yard waste and other compostable materials are converted into renewable energy. These projects move San Jose closer to achieving its Green Vision goals by 2040.
