Javad EMS adds to a Thriving Electronics Manufacturing Industry in San Jose


San Jose has long been home to a diverse electronics manufacturing industry. Today, Javad’s list of external customers represents the vast majority of the EMS provider’s order log, and the company shows no signs of slowing down. Javad is now a preferred partner of many local OEMs, and has started to expand outside of Silicon Valley. When asked why Javad chose San Jose for its manufacturing operations, the answer has everything to do with proximity. “The advantage for us is to build local” says Gary Walker, Vice President of Javad EMS. “Our customers tend to be local and want to source locally.”

There are no marketing gimmicks or revolutionary concepts behind Javad’s success, just a relentless emphasis on quality and automation. This emphasis, combined with other considerations such as faster turnaround times and the ability to keep a tight eye on intellectual property, are what allows a company like Javad EMS to compete successfully and win customer contracts despite pressures that companies may face to move production offshore. Remarks Walker, “[overseas production houses] have large facilities, but they can’t do things better than us here. Everyone in this business will tell you that they build a very high quality product, but we really mean it.”
