San Jose Airport Ranks Second Fastest Growing Medium Hub in U. S. – Points to Strong Economy
Mineta San Jose International Airport increased passenger traffic by 5.9 percent in 2013, making it the second fastest growing medium-sized hub airport in the nation. Director of Aviation Kim Becker Aguirre noted, “This growth reflects the strength of the Silicon Valley market and the competitive advantages our airport provides to carriers.” San Jose will add new international and domestic service including additional flights to Orange County and Los Angeles, daily nonstop flights to Tokyo, and new flights to Denver, San Diego and Seattle. Hawaiian Airlines will resume daily nonstop service to Honolulu on May 16 and Alaska Airlines will launch daily nonstop service to Salt Lake City on June 12.
