Tina has worked with the City of San Jose in Economic Development field for 15 years because “economic development is everyone’s business”. Presently, she is the Downtown Coordinator for the City of San Jose. She puts her heart and soul in her work and most recently brought stellar projects in downtown San Jose to life such as SJ Pop-Up Project, Small Business Ignite and St. James Park activation, to name a few.
In recognition of her passion and work in Downtown, she’s been honored as a Woman of Influence by Silicon Valley Business Journal in April 2015. Tina is also a proud recipient of “Pride of San Jose” award for three consecutive years.
Tina grew up in the colorful and bountiful land of India. While in school, she excelled in Economics and Physics, but chose to graduate in English (honors) with hope to one day become a Journalist. Born in a family of artists, she has been immersed into various forms of art since childhood. After graduating from Delhi University, she also acquired a degree in Graphic Design. She loves to create stunning visual communications for the City and is also a self-taught henna artist!
Tina brings her passion for people and cultures with her to work every day. Her expertise ranges from project management, interpersonal skills and leadership, to graphic design, communication and social media.
Thrilled to be a part of the dynamic team at SJEconomy, Tina is excited to work alongside many downtown enthusiasts in San Jose.
When Tina is not making Downtown San Jose a vibrant place to live, work and play, she is raising her two wonderful boys, finessing her henna skills, and solving crossword puzzles.
