Home to the world’s largest concentration of technology companies, San Jose leads the San Jose/Silicon Valley Emerging Technology Innovation Hub (iHUB). Designated by the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, the San Jose iHUB program is intended to foster an environment for entrepreneurs and innovators to connect and thrive.

We work closely with our iHub partners to generate emerging technology commercialization, leading to job creation, business growth, and revenues. In this effort, we partner with a growing number of innovative enterprise-boosting organizations in San Jose.

The number of these organizations is reaching a kind of critical mass, and OED took on the task of developing the first Urban Innovation map and guide. Organizations on this map represent an increasingly robust network of accelerators, incubators, maker places and co-working spaces.

With more than 20 listings, this urban tech ecosystem supports entrepreneurs, inventors, makers and creatives—helping them achieve their dreams and enabling productive collaboration with others. View and download the map here.

San Jose’s innovation ecosystem is concentrated in the Downtown core, the kind of walkable, amenity-rich urban environment favored by Millennials, global talent, and creatives. The City’s ecosystem also includes unique facilities in the North San Jose Innovation District, Berryessa BART Station Area, and Edenvale, supporting technology demonstration and commercialization. More than 1,700 technology companies and 950 manufacturing companies in San Jose provide a rich matrix of opportunity to these innovation centers as they help good ideas become good businesses.
