What We Love: Sandwiched by Downtown and the East Side, the newly named East Village corridor along East Santa Clara Street has so many great vegetarian options. Most vegetarians probably already know about the huge menu at Vegetarian House but this district has many great options that will even please your meat eating friends. Check out Tofoo Com Chay and treat yourself to a vegan donut at Vegan Bistro Donuts & Cafe for dessert. And there is a new vegan Banh Mi, Aina’s Vegan, right inside the bistro.

District Tips: This district is home to one of the last places to get your old film developed locally, Foto Express. The owner, Henry, really knows what he is doing. So, if you are looking to make use of some old family photos or need some old film developed for a special gift, this is your go to place.

Kid Fun: Stroll down 7th Street to the amazing children’s area at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library and then get a little run around time on the SJSU campus lawns.

Celebrating as a Couple: Listen to records at Needle to the Groove and see if you can learn something new from each other then grab a bite at Punjab Cafe or Last Round Tavern.
